Accelerator

Technology Transfer professionals need multidisciplinary skills to help them define an effective strategy in order to enhance the value of a patent portfolio, reduce time to market, and attract investors.

The “TT Accelerator” program offers an inclusive acceleration path that includes qualified mentorship, technical consulting, training, and stakeholder scouting to fill specific gaps and contribute to the enhancement of research results.

The program is designed to support the most promising research projects within the PerfeTTO network, enhancing the multidisciplinary skills of TTO (Technology Transfer Office) staff through targeted support to integrate the hard and soft skills crucial for the exploitation of research results. TT Officers in the PerfeTTO network will have the opportunity to submit innovative ideas and solutions, protected by intellectual property rights or with a patent application filed, in the Life Sciences sector (Therapeutics & Pharmaceuticals, MedTech & Medical Devices, Diagnostics, Digital Health).

At the end of the program, selected TTOs will have the opportunity to participate in Business Matching events organized by PerfeTTO in a stimulating environment, promoting their projects and establishing valuable connections with potential partners and investors.

Business Matching

In order to enhance the results of scientific research, it is essential to start dialoguing with stakeholders operating within European and international innovation ecosystems.

PerfeTTO, thanks to accurate mapping, stakeholder clustering, and support for participation in sector initiatives for internationalization, facilitates effective relationships and enhances growth and innovation in the Life Sciences sector.

In addition, it promotes business matching and matchmaking activities at nationwide and worldwide, in order to identify potential partners, investors, distributors, and/or end users.

PerfeTTO also organizes identity-based business matching events to promote research results and facilitate connections with global partners.

Legal business

Legal instruments are essential for effective technology transfer, and their harmonization represents an indispensable added value.

PerfeTTO offers legal services based on procedures and contracts “harmonized” by a team of experts qualified in the field of intellectual property. It also guarantees a solid legal and collaborative basis for the success of projects thanks to the creation of a worldwide network of Key Opinion Leaders and Key Providers.

The legal support service provides standardized contract templates for managing technology transfer practices, shared intellectual property policies, and GDPR management approaches specific to technology transfer.

Training

For the effective transformation of scientific know-how into concrete solutions, it is necessary to start with an innovative training program based on cross-contamination with various players in the system, not only in the Life Sciences sector.

PerfeTTO's training offer combines face-to-face solutions with e-learning, webinars, and on-the-job training, strengthening the dialogue between TTOs and researchers in order to build the best strategy for their innovative solutions, while offering targeted training to accelerate the transfer of scientific research to industry, promoting the entrepreneurial culture and enhancing the skills of technology transfer professionals.

Innovation Intelligence Tool

To act quickly and confidently, we need access to a network of data and solutions, to define the right research and development strategy to drive innovation forward.

PerfeTTO's AI-powered Innovation Intelligence Tool simplifies the collection and analysis of information to align intellectual property (IP) protection strategy with the companies' R&D strategies.

The Innovation Intelligence Tool performs due diligence aimed at:

  • improving strategic management's understanding of the potential of the patent portfolio through advanced, easily accessible data visualizations
  • accelerating the innovation pipeline
  • identifying the most valuable resources and new opportunities for exploitation
  • enhancing the value of the patent portfolio

All this allows us to build the right commercial strategy to penetrate the market, assess risks, identify emerging threats, monitor competitors, promote technology adoption, and maximize value throughout the entire innovation lifecycle.

Network

Who we are

PerfeTTO is the first Italian network composed of technology transfer offices (TTOs) in the Life Sciences sector, funded with a total investment of €30 million, of which €15 million is financed by the Ministry of Health through the National Complementary Plan (NCP) to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), Innovative Health Ecosystem E.3.

The project, which brings together 54 centers of excellence located throughout Italy, including public and private IRCCS (Scientific Institutes for Research, Hospitalization, and Care), universities, foundations, and hospital companies, in the form of a Temporary Consortium. It aims to promote a nationwide culture of technology transfer in the Life Sciences sector and bridge the gap between research and society to foster knowledge and generate social and cultural growth.

There are three coordinating centers, one in the north (Monzino IRCCS Cardiology Center), one in the center (Romagna Institute for the Study of Tumors “Dino Amadori” IRST) and one in the south (Ente Ospedaliero Specializzato in Gastroenterologia “Saverio de Bellis” IRCCS).

They work in synergy with partners to deliver, implement, and share: training activities, best practices, guidelines, operating models, national and international databases, and research enhancement projects, with the future implementation of an IT platform with artificial intelligence capabilities.
